Tribal Librarian's Meeting at State Library in Olympia Sept. 19, 2013
Tracey attended the Tribal Librarian's meeting in Olympia. The State Library hosted the meeting and gave us a tour. We got to go in the "vault" that holds the books that first came to Washington Territory original books, maps, globes, and miscellaneous materials that were funded through Organic Act of March 2, 1853 in the amount of $5,000. At the rate of inflation in 2009 the value of the books would have been $131,500. They smelled of leather and old paper - we even got to touch some of them!!! What a special visit.
